PKZIP vs AES Encryption
Not all ZIP encryption is created equal. The type of encryption your file uses has a massive impact on recovery speed and success rate.
PKZIP / ZipCrypto (Legacy)
Older ZIP files and files created with Windows built-in compression use ZipCrypto (also called PKZIP encryption). This is a legacy algorithm with known cryptographic weaknesses, allowing our servers to test passwords at extremely high speeds. Most PKZIP archives are recovered very quickly.
