How to identify an SBI statement PDF password
SBI statements can be generated through more than one channel. The password depends on how the statement was requested, so a random name-and-date formula is not a reliable default.
For SBI Quick, use the code you selected
SBI's official SBI Quick page says a six-month e-statement can be requested by SMS using ESTMT, the account number and a four-digit code chosen by the customer.
That chosen four-digit code is used to encrypt the PDF attachment sent to the registered email address. This rule is specific to that SBI Quick request flow; other SBI statement products may use different access instructions.
Find the correct SBI channel
Work backwards from where the PDF came from. The email timestamp and request history usually identify the channel.
Check whether you used SBI Quick
If you sent an ESTMT SMS, use the exact four-digit code that you placed in that request—not your ATM PIN, OTP or UPI PIN.
Check OnlineSBI downloads
SBI confirms that account statements can be downloaded in PDF from OnlineSBI. A file downloaded directly during an authenticated session may differ from an emailed encrypted attachment.
Identify special products
Credit-card, prepaid, NRI, demat, loan and corporate statements can follow their own delivery and password processes. Read the product-specific message.
Why the four-digit code may fail
The selected-code rule is simple, but it is often confused with other four-digit banking secrets.
A different code was used in the SMS
The code belongs to that particular statement request. Search sent messages for the original ESTMT request rather than relying on memory.
The PDF came from another SBI product
Do not apply SBI Quick guidance to SBI Card, a prepaid card, a corporate account or a PDF generated by a third-party portal.
The attachment is incomplete
Compare its file size, request a new statement through an official channel and avoid repeatedly trying sensitive PINs.
Recovering an authorised SBI PDF
If the original request message is unavailable, ask SBI support to resend the statement through the official app, website or registered-number service. Never disclose an OTP, transaction PIN or full banking password to anyone offering PDF help.
For your own remaining locked PDF, LostMyPassPro can run a free initial check. When a result is verified, the private status page shows proof and a final INR price, including GST, before payment.
Transparent local pricing after a result
Start with a free check. If your password or unlocked file is verified, the private status page shows proof and the exact price in rupees, including GST, before payment. No subscription and no charge for an unsuccessful Fast Check.
Use only for a file you own or are authorised to access.
SBI statement password FAQ
What is the SBI Quick e-statement password?
For the official ESTMT SMS flow, it is the four-digit code you chose and included in the request.
Is the code my ATM PIN?
No. It is a separate code chosen for the e-statement request. Do not disclose or test your ATM or UPI PIN.
Does that code work for SBI Card statements?
Do not assume it does. SBI Card and other products can have separate instructions.
What if I deleted the request SMS?
Request a fresh statement through an official SBI channel first. Recovery is an option only for a file you are authorised to access.
